We all know the problem of the training champion. Without pressure, these training champions are able to perform at high levels, but they cannot achieve this performance in competition. What is the reason for that and where is the difference between athletes and teams, which are able to withstand the pressures of elite sport and reach peak performances, whereas others can’t handle the pressure and under-perform?
Resilience and the right state of mind seem to play an important role in achieving the desirable outcome. As already mentioned, not all athletes or teams automatically have this mental fortitude, but it can be and it should be developed with the same consideration that physical resilience is built. What does training in this area look like? The need of a holistic psychosocial support program for high performers? What other mental factors also play a role in sustainable success?
Our new ONLINETALK format offers you insights into this topic from both the scientific and the practical side. World class sports scientists and coaches are talking about the current level of knowledge in science, the practical usability in everyday training, the reliability of the method or system, the alternatives and future expectations. They will share their expertise and personal experience with you.
The ONLINETALK splits up in three 90-minute slots and a 60-minute Q&A session with all three speakers. You can ask questions during the whole talk and we are looking forward to some awesome discussions between the experts at the end.
